Have you ever wondered what the vintage dresses looked like before the fashion design students did a re-design to them? I personally call it from "frumpy to fun!" And of course there are exceptions with a lot of vintage dresses are fun just the way they are.
At
Sydney's Consignment Boutique in Auburn, AL you will find a selection of vintage re-design dresses, mixed in today's modern designer labels like Ann Taylor, Chicos, Coldwater Creek, 7 for all mankind, Free People, etc. Our program consist of design students from
Auburn University, and some other ladies that are very talented at sewing too but have not made a career out of it. These ladies take existing vintage pieces from our massive warehouse, re-design them and put them in our boutique and get 50% of the sale price for their work. Plus they get the experience, and with that the opportunity to include our design program on their resume for future purposes. Some of these students have already graduated from Auburn and started their careers in the fashion industry.

Most of the dresses were from the 60's 70's era, and shortened, made sleeveless or added spaghetti straps to the styles. Enjoy viewing and hopefully soon we will be offering the vintage re-design dresses on our online store,
